The “tout public” version of the diploma in French language studies (DELF) for adults is an official diploma issued by the Ministry of National Education. There are 4 diplomas that correspond to the first 4 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: DELF A1, DELF A2, DELF B1 and DELF B2.
DELF is an official, high-quality diploma, harmonised with the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
This diploma is recognised worldwide and is valid for life.
Depending on the level, the DELF can enhance a curriculum vitae (CV) and make it easier to get a job in a company where the language spoken is French. The DELF B2 allows you to obtain French nationality. The DELF B2, and increasingly the DALF C1, allow entry into French, European or Francophone universities, and into certain grandes écoles.
The DELF “tout public” is intended for adults and older teenagers, foreigners or French, who wish to develop their French language skills for personal or professional purposes.
The “all-public” version implies that all themes of society can be addressed in the public, personal, professional and educational exercises.

The DALF is made up of 2 independent diplomas corresponding to advanced levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: DALF C1 and DALF C2.

This diploma is recognised throughout the world and is valid for life. Depending on the level achieved, the DELF can facilitate acceptance to university in France, Europe or a French-speaking countries and to some grandes écoles universities.
The DELF “junior/scholastic” is aimed at adolescents, both foreigners and French, who want to improve their French language skills.
The “junior/scholastic” version implies that only themes of interest to young people are included in the exercises. Indeed, the DELF exams assess communication skills. A young learner will be placed in a context that will make it easier for him/her to react in the “junior/school” version; he/she will thus be able to demonstrate all his/her skills to the evaluators. The DELF diploma for the “junior/school” version has the same value as a diploma for the “general public” adult version. The exam version is not indicated on the diploma.

The DELF ‘Prim’ is aimed at all children who are beginners in French foreign language who are studying at elementary level or at the age or the age required to continue their studies according to the regulations in their country.
The ‘Prim’ version means that only topics of interest to young people are included in the exercises. This is because DELF exams assess communication skills. A young learner will be placed in a context that will make it easier for them to react, so they can demonstrate all their skills to the assessors. The DELF diploma for the ‘Prim’ version has the same value as a diploma for the for the ‘general public’ or ‘junior/school’ versions. The exam version is not indicated on the diploma.
